Greg Tolpigin

Greg is a professional trader and Investment Strategist with 19 years experience, having worked for a number of large Investment Banks before starting his own firm. His early career began at Citigroup in 1993 as an Economist before moving to Banker Trust as a Technical Strategist and later Macquarie Bank. In 2003 he started his own proprietary trading and advisory firm GT Financial. He has appeared on Bloomberg TV and CNBC, and written for the Australian Financial Review, Personal Investor and Shares Magazines.

Presentation: Current market conditions are often described as “unprecedented”, but evidence shows this isn’t the first time global markets have been awash with large levels of liquidity and sluggish global economic growth. These prior periods of similar circumstances give traders and investors a solid framework from which to develop sound investment strategies that look to expose portfolios to not only those asset classes, sectors and individual stocks that perform best but also those which underperform and in some instances experience outright declines.

Jennings Capital was the investment manager for the Multi-Market Leverage Fund between 2009 and 2012. The company created a variety of strategies for both active and passive trading. As Director of Jennings Capital Pty Ltd Stephen brings over 25 years of experience in the futures markets as a trader, investment manager and advisor.

By understanding how commodities are inter-related, investors can benefit from the annual changes that create cyclical upward and downward pressure on prices. Which seasonal trades still produced reliable returns during the past crisis ridden decade? Long-term trends are driven by fundamental imbalances resulting in major adjustments in prices rebalancing. Where are the long-term trends for the next 6-12 months?
